“As an artist, I strive to invoke feelings through the art that I create. My art taps on a variety of different feelings. The style of my art is heavily influenced by pop culture and things that remind me of my childhood. Some of my inspiration when I am creating art comes from music and musical artists. My work is very feminine and mysterious and oftentimes will be presented using an array of pinks and bright colors. Another influence for my art would be mythical aspects that allow a person to think beyond themselves and apply a deeper meaning to what they are seeing. I want everyone to be able to interpret my art in their own way and develop their own feelings.”

Bryanna Mendel
After being born and raised in St. Charles, Illinois, I came to Northern Illinois University as an art major after completing my Associates Degree at Elgin Community College. I always knew that art was a passion of mine, but it was not until I started working my way through the art program that I realized my talents would someday lead to a career. My enjoyment with working with different types of mediums grew as I was exposed to a range of opportunities along the way. Today my favorite type of art includes oil and acrylic paints and chalk pastels. I am set to graduate in May of 2025. After graduation, I plan to use my skills to launch my career as an artist.
