Estefania Sevilla Flores
Bachelor’s of Science in Art
Estefania Sevilla Flores is a Mexican artist who relocated to DeKalb to pursue a Bachelor of Science in Art degree at Northern Illinois University. Estefania was drawn to NIU by their extensive art program and on campus resources. NIU has refined her graphic design skills as well as developing skills outside of the digital world. Estefania describes her style of design as, “Fun, but neat. As a graphic designer, the client’s vision is priority but I hope that my style elevates that vision.”
She is set to graduate this Spring and hopes to use her skills to help her community and express her culture and identity.
Artist Statement
Graphic design and art are more than just aesthetics. They inform us about ongoing events, emotions and more. The goal of my work is to provide an outlet for ideas and information to reach the community. The common narratives in my designs are about community, advocacy and joy. My style of design is neat and fun but still elevates a client’s vision. Whether it's through posters, logos, drawings, or more; design is about driving positive change that sparks change and gives back to my community.
