Sculpture
My work uses humor to highlight and critique stereotypical tropes in modern masculinity. In many ways the matriarchal upbringing I experienced, being raised by a single mother, has provided me with a sense of comfort in the more feminine aspects of my being. As I’ve matured, I’ve found myself having developed a warped perception of masculine culture, despite this being a culture that I am inherently a part of. Yet I still feel a self-imposed need to fit into its norms. Primarily working in sculpture, I view each individual piece as a joke, whether that be subtle and sophisticated or crude and blatant.
